Condiment packaging development status and trend prediction
condiment is an auxiliary material in catering and cooking, which cannot be consumed at one time like rice noodles. Therefore, there are some special requirements for condiment packaging, including repeated sealing, lightproof, stability and so on
1. Soy sauce and vinegar packaging
soy sauce and vinegar can be regarded as representatives of liquid condiments. There are many kinds of condiments, such as cooking wine and seasoning oil. In the era of planned economy, glass bottles once unified the packaging of soy sauce and vinegar. It can be said that liquid condiments are still one of the last few positions of glass containers. Glass bottles do have their advantages, transparent, good barrier, low price, easy to reuse
in recent years, great changes have taken place. The pattern of glass bottles dominating the world has been broken, and plastic bags, PET bottles and concave barrels have entered the liquid condiment market one after another
pet bottles are similar to glass bottles in scale and capacity, but they are lighter and have better luster than glass bottles, and have bottle caps that can be used repeatedly; PE barrels are generally large in capacity, suitable for occasions where consumption is relatively fast, and the repeated sealing is also very good; Xing bag provides better economy
although the glass bottle packaging still occupies a dominant position, it is worth mentioning that the previous sealing form by a single crown cap on the glass bottle has changed. It can be said that the non resealability of the crown cap is the fatal weakness of glass bottle packaging. Now many glass bottles have been improved in bottle caps, and plastic bottle caps have been used for convenience. Some manufacturers also hang a plastic cap on the glass bottleneck sealed by the crown cap, so that after the crown cap is opened, it can be replaced with this plastic cap for repeated use
liquid condiments with small capacity, such as mustard oil, chili oil and some high-grade raw soy sauce, are still mainly packaged in glass bottles, but all have adopted plastic bottle caps. For the time being, this market has not yet emerged as an ideal alternative packaging due to the close connection between China's extruder products and strategic new industries
2. Sugar and salt packaging
sugar and salt have been packaged in cloth bags, especially in large-scale transportation packaging. However, plastic bags are the main form of sales packaging. For a long time, there has been little change in packaging specifications
in recent years, some changes have taken place in the types of salt. Some functional salt products such as iodized salt have entered the market, and have gradually become the mainstream. The packaging of salt has increased the requirements of text instructions. The change of package fiber length is relatively insensitive. Packaging also began to transform from a single plastic bag packaging, and carton packaging began to appear
the packaging of salt products abroad has tended to carton packaging, which is also the innovation trend of flavoring salt packaging in China
at present, the packaging of sugar is still mainly plastic bags, but the development trend is obviously towards paper bag packaging. It is more in line with the requirements of environmental protection, is a trend of packaging; In addition, the functionality of paper is not what it used to be. It can have high strength, good moisture resistance and printability. Bag making technology has also made great progress
at present, there seems to be no effort in the packaging design of sugar and salt in China. The appearance is very monotonous, and it is difficult to measure its length and taste with a steel ruler. If there are some new packaging designs, consumers will easily accept them
3. Sauce packaging
the packaging of sauce viscous goods is divided into two categories: bags and bottles. Low grade seasoning sauce is mainly packed in plastic bags. Some medium and high-end sauces, such as chili sauce, tomato sauce and various jam, are packaged in glass bottles with plastic caps, which are convenient to open and close for many times. Some sauces are also added with aluminum-plastic sealing film to extend the shelf life. Special shaped bottles mainly appear on some high-end sauce packages, such as salad dressing. Seasoning sauces packaged in small capacity, such as ketchup used in fast-food restaurants, basically adopt aluminum plastic composite packaging
the latest development in this field is that some sauces have begun to use aluminum-plastic composite packaging, such as some seafood sauce, meat sauce, etc. These packaging are not only beautifully printed, but also can extend the shelf life, but the problem of secondary sealing has not been solved. Consumers still need to change their packaging if they can't eat it all at once after buying; The other is the increasing number of plastic bottles. Wide mouth PET bottles have been used in jam, sesame paste and other packaging, while PET bottles are the majority of salad dressing. At present, there are few PET bottle production lines introduced in China, mainly because of the small demand. However, with the transition from sauce food to high-grade powder production, the characteristics and the performance of processed parts establish a certain correlation, PET bottle is expected to become the most important packaging form of this kind of condiments
4. Pepper and seasoning packaging
there are a large number of condiments with large particles, including pepper, seasoning, and even pepper and garlic. Most of these condiments are still in the stage of extensive operation, mostly in bulk, and only single-layer plastic bags are packaged, which is very crude. In addition to the fact that this kind of condiment itself is not "fine" and the price is not high, the lack of brand may be an important factor in the poor packaging. In terms of development, plastic bags will be an ideal choice for larger size packaging, while wide mouth bottles are suitable for smaller size family packaging
